A Friendly Archetype

So i just started to read Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini, and the story is alot like a middle/high school kid who is in school. I haven't read much of the book yet but definitely it is attractive to me. The story is about a real life situation that almost everybody goes through. So the main character Jeremy really likes this girl named Christine. But he heard rumors about him giving letters to her. So he goes to his friend Micheal, and he gives some good suggestions he can use. He tells him about things he would have done, and he also told him as long as you know you didn't do something then, you should not listen to any body else.
Micheal seems like a very powerful character in the book. From what I have seen this person is a really good friend. He is trying to show his friend Jeremy the right thing to always do. The author kind of symbolizes him in the story between the connection of Christine and Jeremy. I think the author intentionally used this strategy because it makes the story more like a real-life one. The author also uses Micheal as a mentor to Jeremy. I am guessing that throughout the book Jeremy will be coming to Micheal for help with his situations. The author makes the story more meaningful by making the mentor a teen that is the main characters age rather then somebody older because not always does somebody older can help you with some situations.

Connections

So i am still reading On the Devils Court by Carl Deuker. I know i am a slow reader and thats alright. I have many personal connections to this book an i knew this when i first picked the book up in my hands. I'm a sports kind of person and i love to play basketball. Reading about sports, i really like it.

So i will get to the point. In one part of the story the main character blurts out everything that comes to his head when he does not even know it. But later it comes to harm him in a very big way. I do this same thing, I cant keep secrets. I have a big mouth. So not only am i enjoying this book but it is also teaching me something i should really consider doing. The book has a very different type of problems in different times.

There is also another connection that happened in the beginning of the book. That would be like getting influenced by people around you. It may be like a small thing like copying homework to a big thing like doing drugs. I have surely been in those type of situations being a teenager.I was smart enough to stay away from it. In the book the kid is influenced by other friends to do something he does not want to do. The kid didn't even know if he was picking the right decision.

On the Devils Court.

So i found out that the kids name is Joe. He is now friends with most of the kids that are in the school. He was playing some good basketball with his friends and he was doing a great job in interacting with many of the kids. He met some kids and his best friends were Ross and John. They are both very good at basketball. But Ross almost put Joe and himself in jail. He went with Joe and spray painted and also stole some things from a place. Thats really bad influence which really happens to every teenager. From that point on i really thought different about Ross. He also has a friend named John who's parents are related to each other. Ross is also a very big bully. Joe's parents really want to see this kid, and thats a really big problem for Joe. John just spills everything about Ross to his parents. In my own opinion is that Joe should be able to hang out with Ross as long as he does not do the things Ross does. And i don't believe that anybody can make you do something you don't want to do.

So when the kid says he is controlled by a devil he says he will leave it for a later time in the book. So the author kind of got into it because Joe's father bought many books for him to read. And one of the books have Joe's last name in it. It talks about a scientist who takes peoples souls. This of all the many books he got caught his attention. It seems like Im headed towards the action of the book.

Thoughts on On The Devils Court by Carl Deuker

So far i have only read up to chapter 4 in this book. I think it is a meaningful book. So the kid moves to Washington and he goes to a totally different school. He doesn't know what people would think of him, he is very shy. A similar kind of story happened to me during elementary school. I changed schools 3 times in elementary school! I know it was hard for me to get along. So when i went to PS 159 in fourth grade i was shy of what other people would think of me. I liked playing basketball but i was too shy to ask them to put me on their team. I was even shy to ask them for something. So for me later i got to know them better and they were really good friends. But i am not sure what will happen to the kid in the book yet so i am looking forward to it.
Also in the, at the beginning the kid was saying how some kind of devil took his soul. I looked back on the book and read the title again. Then i read the back of the book. I see that the devil gives him a good strength in something. I relate this to the Cirque Du Freak series because Darren gave up his life just to save a friend and that friend wasn't so good. So having that kind of thought it kind of made me want to read the book. It is a basketball and thrilling type of book. The reason i would say that it is thrilling is because it seems like those stories where alot of things go on that you need to keep track. So i will continue reading this book and enjoying it.
